Staff Salute: David Melick

David Melick is a retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force and serves as the IT/data analyst at Joseph House. Learn more about his background and experience:

What degrees and certifications do you have?
I have an associate’s degree in aircraft maintenance technology from the Community College of the Air Force, an associate’s degree in PC support and administration from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Mount Olive.

When did you join the Joseph House team?
I started at Joseph House in May 2016.

What inspired you to work at a rehabilitation facility?
At Joseph House, our clients need assistance with all aspects of their lives. It isn’t so much about the rehabilitation facility itself, but about the people who come here. They inspire me. They help me and, in return, I try to give back what they give me.

What drew you to Joseph House as a place of employment?
I could have found employment at almost any company working in the IT department, but I need to be more than just the “computer guy.” At Joseph House, I get to assist our staff and our veterans in need. I look at Joseph House as my extended family.

What is your favorite memory of working at Joseph House?
I don’t have one favorite memory. Any time I get to watch our veterans integrate what they learn into their everyday lives it becomes a favorite memory.

How can people get in touch with you and the Joseph House team?
If you’re a veteran or know a veteran struggling with addiction, please contact us at [email protected] or 513-241-2965.
