Joseph House sits down with WVXU

Joseph House Executive Director Nate Pelletier and Associate Director Mark Levine joined host Mark Heyne on 91.7-FM WVXU’s Cincinnati Edition (April 13, 2017) to discuss Joseph House’s mission and how the agency affects the lives of veterans.

“Our mission has been evolving over the last 20 years. We came into existence in 1994 and the real issues we had was with a lot of the Vietnam veterans and homelessness,” explained Pelletier. “We provided homeless and transitional housing, but we found that we are providing value to our veterans and to our community through the treatment aspect. In the last three to four years, we’ve really been building up our treatment program.”

Pelletier and Levine continue the discussion commenting on the trauma veterans face, and how homelessness is a by-product of other issues such as mental illness and addiction.
