Intensive Outpatient

Joseph House’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) serves as a middle ground between residential treatment and outpatient therapy while still allowing veterans to maintain their daily lives at home. Offered to veterans and/or their families, IOP is comprised of regular sessions several days a week over a 12-week period. It arms individuals with information and skills that can immediately be implemented in their daily lives.

‘Living In Balance,’ Lasting Recovery

IOP takes a comprehensive approach to recovery. Utilizing a Hazelden-based curriculum, Joseph House employs the “Living in Balance” model that utilizes a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy and experiential approaches to help veterans manage addiction and build a life in recovery. The evidence-based practices can be tailored by client and can address co-occurring mental health disorders. IOP also offers Moral Reconation Therapy, which is designed to reduce recidivism by improving one’s moral reasoning, helping them examine thought patterns and behaviors in the course of decision making.

“Veterans need a healing environment and time to move from surviving to thriving. Our clinical treatment ensures licensed professionals rely on accurate diagnoses to create individualized treatment plans that care for the whole person.”
– Brian Owens, MA/BSN/LPCC-S/RN, Clinical Director at Joseph House
