Joseph House Receives $100,000 Grant to Expand Veteran Recovery Services

Joseph House, a holistic treatment center in Camp Washington dedicated to supporting veterans battling addiction and homelessness for over 30 years, has received a $100,000 grant from the Hamilton County and city of Cincinnati OneOhio Local Government Funding Allocation to enhance its veteran recovery services.

The funding will allow Joseph House to establish a new Senior Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPS) position to meet the growing demand for services. The Senior CPS will play a pivotal role in onboarding new clients, creating personalized housing plans and connecting veterans to comprehensive resources. Additionally, the Senior CPS will be integral to Joseph House’s structured inpatient treatment program, helping develop individualized service plans, facilitating both individual and group counseling and providing education on substance use disorders and mindfulness-based relapse prevention techniques.

“As veterans and military families continue to face the aftermath of multiple deployments, combat and a range of visible and invisible injuries, Joseph House’s integrated approach to clinical treatment cares for the physical, mental and emotional aspects of their healing journeys,” said Joseph House Executive Director Alicia Patterson. “We’re grateful to Hamilton County and the city of Cincinnati for their support, which allows us to broaden these essential services and strengthen recovery in our community.”

The Senior CPS will also provide comprehensive case management and peer support services in areas such as benefits, income, employment and housing, furthering Joseph House’s mission to address the unique challenges faced by veterans.
